Overview… when input is disabled in the XenaManager

If an input field in the XenaManager is shown using a gray background you cannot change its value:

There are various reasons for this:

  • The port is not reserved to you. Go to the “Properties” tab, and click the “Reserve” button.
  • Traffic is on. Go to the “Streams” tab, and click the “Stop traffic” button. When traffic is started you cannot modify any of the parameters that affect the generated traffic. In particular you cannot change the definition of any stream that is enabled, but you can edit streams that are not enabled.
  • Capture is on. While capturing is enabled the trigger and keep criteria cannot be changed.
  • Histogram is on. While a histogram is counting you cannot change the source or range.
  • Filter is active. While enabled you cannot change the filter condition or any of the terms used by it. You cannot delete a term that is used by any filter, nor delete a filter that is used for capturing.
  • There are various local dependencies that are typically fairly obvious, such as: in the “Packet content” sub-section of the “STREAM DEFINITION” panel you cannot edit the payload pattern while you have selected an incrementing payload.
  • Finally, the connection to the chassis may have been lost, and you’ll have to reconnect.
