Overview… XenaBay test module slots

The main portion of the front panel of the XenaBay chassis contains the slots used for one or more test modules. The lid of the chassis needs to be removed in order to insert or remove test modules.

Test modules can be inserted in any combination, in arbitrary slots, and slots can be left empty.

The module slots are numbered consecutively, starting from 0 at the left slot. Empty slots are also counted, so each test module is given a fixed number determined by its slot position, regardless of whether any other slot is used.

For each test module, the test ports are numbered consecutively, starting from 0 for the top-most port.

Each test port has a green LED indicating whether the port has achieved basic Ethernet sync with the port it is connected to. Most ports also have a yellow LED indicating that the port is transmitting packets.

For information about the port interface types please see the appropriate test module section.
