Overview… saving and loading

Using the XenaManager, the full configuration for a port can be saved to a file on the client, using the right-click menu of the port:

Likewise, once a port is reserved, a configuration can be loaded from a file on the client, again using the right-click menu of the port.

Loading a configuration that was saved from a different port has the potential to create MAC address conflicts or test payload conflicts. The XenaManager will provide a few prompts allowing you to resolve this.

To establish a well-known state for a port, the client should connect to the tester, reserve the port, and load a particular configuration for it from a file on the client.

When the tester is powered down or restarted all port configurations are lost. Any work in progress should therefore be saved first.

Configurations for multiple ports can be saved in a single operation using the XenaManager’s concept of a test case.
