Overview… 40/100G configuration
The M1CFP100 and M2CFP40 test modules can provide port speeds of 10, 40, and 100 Gbps, subject to the module type, the transceiver type, and the external cabling. The number of ports can also vary, even for a single transceiver.
The test module itself is configured to the appropriate number and speed of the ports on the “MODULE PROPERTIES” panel:
Some CFP transceiver types (e.g. LR4) allow only a single port configuration, and they are called fixed. Others (e.g. SR10) allow individual fibers to be allocated in different combinations for multiple port speeds, and they are called flexible.
Once the CFP configuration is determined at the module level, the individual ports are configured and used in the normal way.
