Overview… the XenaCompact chassis
XenaCompact comprises a range of 1U rack-mountable Ethernet test appliances.
Each XenaCompact chassis contains one horizontally mounted Xena test module which contains a number of test ports of a particular physical interface type:
- C1-M1CFP100, containing an M1CFP100 module supporting one 40/100 Gbps pluggable CFP transceiver.
- C1-M2CFP40, containing an M2CFP40 module supporting one 40 Gbps pluggable CFP transceiver.
- C1-M6SFP+, containing an M6SFP+ module supporting six 10 Gbps pluggable SFP+ transceivers.
- C1-M2XFP, containing an M2XFP module supporting two 10 Gbps pluggable XFP transceivers.
- C1-M2SFP+, containing an M2SFP+ module supporting two 10 Gbps pluggable SFP+ transceivers.
- C1-M2CX4, containing an M2CX4 module supporting two 10 Gbps electrical CX4 interfaces.
- C1-M6SFP, containing an M6SFP module supporting six 1 Gbps pluggable SFP transceivers.
XenaCompact chassis are entirely front-operated except for the power cord which is attached at the back.
On the left side of the front panel are several LED indicators and the power switch:
- Network activity LED, showing whether the management port is connected and active, normally on.
- Disk activity LED, showing whether the internal disk is active, primarily on during start-up.
- Power LED, showing whether power is attached and switched on.
The power switch turns power on and off with a quick press. Power can also be removed from the external attachment without any ill consequences. When power is applied the chassis starts up automatically without the need to press the power switch.
After turning the chassis on it takes 2-3 minutes to start up. When it is ready all the LEDs of the test module start flashing until the first connection is made to the chassis.
Before turning off power you must save any work in progress to a local PC using the XenaManager application. When the chassis is powered on it comes up in a well-defined and fully reset state.
