Overview… user names

Before reserving resources, the client must identify itself with a user name.

In the XenaManager this is done from the “Manager -> User name…” menu:

Xena menuusername User names

User names are short self-chosen strings, typically just the initials of the user. The XenaManager retains the name across invocations so you do not need to type it in every time you start the XenaManager application.

The name is simply used to tag the reserved resource, and the testers have no notion of actual ‘user accounts’. Multiple connections could use the same name, but any resource will only be reserved to one connection at a time.
